Coach
Charles "Daw" Miller, former successful tutor at Frackville and Saint Clair High Schools, gave Pottsville one of
its most highly spirited teams in recent school history. The team made up for its lack in height and experience by clever
ball-handling, accurate shooting, and general all-around playing ability. This year, only three seniors, Umberger, Heckman,
and Schuster, will graduated. With a returning nucleus of Pepe, Whitaker, and Joulwan to build around. Coach Miller, along
with the capable assistance of George Dimmerling, look forward to greater things for Pottsville High School next year.
Michael Joseph Brady, also a newcomer to the basketball coaching staff,
turned in a commendable performance in molding his Jayvee squad into a well-fundamentalized team. We are sure his aid will
be a significant help to future teams here at Pottsville.
