"Win" is proving to be the key word in the Crimson Tide Basketball program. Following their capture of the Schuylkill League crown in 1979-1980, the forceful team, with their adeptness and skill, came through this season to capture first place in their division of the Schuylkill League. The turning point came in the beginning of the season when the Tide defeated Tamaqua, a powerful rival, which built up the team's self-confidence for the rest of the season. Tough competition this year included Tamaqua,Nativity, and Minersville. Senior experience added to the success of the season.

   Individual achievement honors go to Ralph Thomas, who marked his 1,000 point milestone during Pottsville-Minersville game. Future promising players to watch for are Danny Phillips, Mike Everly, and Joe Eckley.
